The English National Opera to open the autumn season with Beethoven’s Fidelio

London – Beethoven wrote over 600 works including symphonies, sonatas, concertos, songs, duets, trios, quartets, quintets, dances, choral works, ballets and incidental music.  But Fidelio is his one and only opera.  In ten years of writing, re-writing,  Fidelio went through many different incarnations, including four different overtures and an original title of Leonore.   The ENO’s groundbreaking new production may challenge your expectations and certainties about this much-admired opera.  Visit www.eno.org for further information
