Club to Catwalk explores the explosion of London fashion in the 1980s and shows the creative relationship between catwalk and club wear. It looks at how the impact of underground club culture was felt far beyond the club doors, reinventing fashion worldwide. More than 90 outfits are on display, including those made specifically to be worn at clubs such as Heaven and Taboo, creations designed and worn by the flamboyant performer Leigh Bowery, studded biker outfits by Pam Hogg and Katherine Hamnett, customised denim jackets by Vivienne Westwood and Richard Cornjeo, jumpsuits by Bodymap and exuberant knitwear by Joseph and Artwork. These are shown together with accessories by designers including Stephen Jones and Patrick Cox.
