«I spend a week of my life on every alphorn», says Heinz. So it’s no wonder that he dedicates all his skill to creating this traditional Swiss instrument. The alphorns are produced in the mountain village of Habkern, where the best tonewood grows just outside his front door. For Heinz, alphorn manufacture is a family affair in which his father, the owner of a village sawmill, is also actively involved. Heinz is particularly proud when his instruments are played – whether in Habkern’s fantastic mountain world or on international TV channels.
