The Invisible Woman

London – On 7th February The Invisible Woman was released in the UK. The film, based on Claire Tomalin’s book of the same name and directed by Ralph Fiennes, explores the complex relationship between Dickens and the young actress Ellen Ternan. We are pleased to announce our new special exhibition in collaboration with those behind this fantastic production looks at the design of the film and features BAFTA and Oscar nominated costumes designed by Michael O’Connor which are placed throughout the Museum. Other items from the film are located on the first floor in number 49 Doughty Street and include original set design drawings by Maria Djurkovic and a variety of weird and wonderful props such as a replica of Dickens’s Reading Desk.
