Anyone traveling to Rapperswil, whether by water or road, will immediately become aware of a picturesque castle towering high above the town on top of a hill. The almost 1,000-year old fortress is one of the most significant historical buildings on Lake Zurich. The castle’s rooms and inner courtyard are frequently used as stylish event locations set amidst history-steeped walls. On August 31, everything revolves around a no less traditional beverage. The main focus of the Craft Beer Festival is placed on sampling fine beers from all over the world. More than 30 different beer types are presented individually to visitors, and afterwards can be sampled direct from the barrel.
