Edited by Eugenio Carmona Since September 20, 2014 Palazzo Strozzi in Florence puts the spotlight on modern art with a major new event dedicated to one of the greatest painters of the twentieth century, Pablo Picasso. The exhibition presents a selection of works by the great master of modern art that allows you to reflect on his influence and comparison with major Spanish artists such as Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí, Juan Gris, Marie Blanchard, Julio González : the art that reflects on the relationship between art and reality and surreality, the commitment of the artist in the historic tragedy, the emergence of the human face monster, and the metaphor of erotic desire as a prime source of creation and vision of the world. Picasso and the Spanish modernity is home to around 90 works in the production of Picasso and other artists, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, engravings, and a film shooting, thanks to the collaboration between the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía Madrid. Among the works on display are famous masterpieces such as the Portrait of Dora Maar , the Horsehead and the painter and the model of Picasso, Siurana, the path of Miró and also drawings, etchings and paintings of Picasso preparatory to the great masterpiece Guernica , have never been shown in so many outside Spain.
