Several National Trust for Scotland properties have a starring role in the new Outlander drama series which has recently launched on American television – including the historic town of Culross and Culross Palace, picturesque Preston Mill in East Lothian and parts of Falkland in Fife, home to Falkland Palace.
Culloden Battlefield also features throughout the historical novels; other Trust sites linked to the Jacobite period include Brodie Castle and Glenfinnan Monument. Outlander joins a long list of international blockbusters filmed at Trust properties including Skyfall, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Dark Knight Rises, The Queen and The 39 Steps.
